It’s not an entire wash; the chase scene in Malta is fun and there's a surface area-level satisfaction in viewing the original Jurassic trio of Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm together in the exact same space all over again, but Over-all, it’s just not a terrific movie.
